A Look Back at the Revolution, Right Down the Road
The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook has a new exhibit looking at the Revolutionary War years here on Long Island, and it is worth a visit if you like history that happened close to home rather than in a textbook. Long Island played a real part in that war, occupied by the British for most of it, with families here caught between sides in ways that do not always make it into the big national story. A museum exhibit like this is a chance to walk through that history at your own pace, without a screen or a summary in between.
