A New Equipment Rental Yard Lands on Townline Road

Kings Park has a new business neighbor on Townline Road. EquipmentShare, a national company that rents out heavy construction machinery, marked the start of its eight acre branch with a beam signing ceremony in late October. The company says the site could eventually mean somewhere between 25 and 50 jobs, with total investment landing anywhere from 35 to 70 million dollars once equipment, buildings and payroll are all counted.

The gathering pulled in a mix of people with a stake in the area, including town and state representatives, the folks who run the Kings Park Chamber of Commerce, a trade group for Long Island contractors, and a foundation that supports veterans and first responder families, which received a joint donation as part of the event. This will be EquipmentShare's first branch set up to serve Long Island and the greater New York City area, built to supply contractors working on roads, bridges, utility lines and coastal projects across the region.

A warehouse and equipment yard like this does not usually change the feel of a neighborhood much, but it is a sign of how much building and infrastructure work is lined up nearby. You can read the original reporting from Patch.
