Smithtown West Wins Suffolk Class AA Soccer Championship
Smithtown West's boys soccer squad pulled off a comeback win on Sunday, beating Huntington 2 to 1 to take the Suffolk Class AA crown. The game was played at Patchogue-Medford High School, and it took two late goals in the second half to turn a one goal deficit into a title for the home team.
It is the program's first county championship since 2023 and the third in its history. The win also reshuffles the postseason bracket on Long Island, with Huntington now set to face Nassau champion Glen Cove for the Long Island title, while Smithtown West heads upstate to take on a Section IV opponent in the state quarterfinals.
